SSU serves suspicion notice to Ukrainian militia major general who collaborated with FSB in Kherson region

The SSU has identified another enemy accomplice in the temporarily occupied part of southern Ukraine.

The offender is the former chief of the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kherson region, who retired from law enforcement in 2014 as a major general of militia.

He later became a member of the oblast council from the banned Volodymyr Saldo’s Bloc.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, the individual came to the attention of Sergei Sinitsyn or ‘Sabir’, an officer of the 3rd unit of the 9th directorate of the operational information department of the FSB’s 5th service.

In March 2022, Sinitsyn met with the former law enforcement officer in occupied Kherson to engage him in activities against Ukraine’s national security.

On Sabir’s instructions, the recruited general was to look for ‘like-minded people’ to form the so-called ‘force bloc’ of the occupation authorities and use it to suppress resistance in the oblast.

For this purpose, the agent used his connections among former law enforcement officers.

Based on the collected evidence, the SSU served the offender a notice of suspicion under Article 27.5 and 110.3 of the CCU (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability).

The suspect is currently hiding from justice in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

However, the SSU has established his location and is acting to bring him to justice for crimes against Ukraine.

The SSU Kherson Office carried out the investigation with the assistance from the SSU Main Investigation Department under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
