SSU notifies Kyiv blogger, who filmed provocative streams for russian media discrediting Ukrainian Armed Forces, of suspicion
In Kyiv, the SSU has documented information sabotage activity of a notorious blogger who spread russian propaganda.
The blogger was discrediting servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and law enforcement agencies. To do this, he shot provocative videos during the movement of military convoys or vehicles of Ukrainian Defence Forces in Kyiv region.
In his streams, the offender insulted our defenders and tried to film their faces and license plates of vehicles.
He posted the videos on his own Internet platform and distributed them through social networks.
The investigation established that the destructive content was widely used by kremlin propagandists to prepare propaganda broadcasts and fake ‘news’ on social and political situation in Ukraine.
One of his provocative videos was used by russian special services to spin disinformation about the civic attitudes and patriotic sentiments of residents of Kyiv region.
In addition, the blogger publicly insulted Ukrainian volunteers and demanded money from them for publishing content in support of the Defence Forces.
As a result of searches, investigators uncovered computer equipment and a mobile phone from which the perpetrator administered his Internet resources.
The blogger has been notified of suspicion of crime under Article 435-1.1, 435-1.2 of the CCU (insulting honor and dignity of a military serviceman, threat to a military serviceman).
The offence is punishable by 5 years of imprisonment.
The pre-trial investigation is underway.
Cyber experts and investigators of the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region are investigating the blogger under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
