SSU ANNIVERSARY GREETINGS FROM ACTING SSU HEAD EVHENIY KHMARA

Dear colleagues, sworn brothers, and friends!

On March 25, we mark the anniversary of the establishment of the Security Service of Ukraine. For 34 years, the SSU has stood guard over the state. We bear responsibility for protecting our citizens. Today, this mission is of crucial importance.

The war has been a serious test for the SSU, but also a period of development and profound change. The Security Service has grown stronger, gaining unique technological, operational, and combat expertise. It has become one of the key components of the Defence Forces, effectively countering russia’s aggression every day.

Today, we are active on all fronts of this war. Our special forces repel the aggressor on the front lines, operate asymmetrically and unpredictably, forcing the occupiers to constantly revise their military doctrine. The Service’s long-range drones impose effective ‘sanctions’ on russia and causing ‘mysterious explosions’ in their rear. Our special operations are already featured in textbooks for security services globally. Every day, we secure new strategic advantages for Ukraine on the front line and strengthen the country’s position in peace negotiations.

Inside the country, the SSU Counterintelligence is actively at work. We dismantle hostile intelligence networks, detain traitors and saboteurs, and thwart terrorist attacks. The result of this work – thousands of Ukrainian citizens saved. We work proactively and outmaneuver russian intelligence services time and again.

SSU Cyber units repel attacks in the digital realm. The Military Medical Directorate saves lives and health of our personnel. Educational institutions are training the next generation of defenders. Investigators are documenting war crimes so that no occupier escapes just punishment. Every russian tank destroyed, every blast at a military factory, and every agent detained is a step toward ending this war.

We remember those who gave their lives so that we may all live on our God-given land. We are doing everything to ensure their sacrifice was not in vain. We are destroying the enemy at the front and exposing its assets behind the lines. And we will carry out this mission with honour until our state achieves a truly lasting and just peace!

Glory to Ukraine!

Respectfully,

Acting Head of the Security Service of Ukraine

Major General Yevheniy Khmara
