Transparency and cooperation with society: SBU asymmetric answers to massive informational attacks of Russian special services
Within the framework of reforming in line with the best international practices, SBU established and held five regional educational events “Hybrid aggression: distinguishing and preventing”.
The project was realised jointly with the “NATO-Ukraine Platform on Counteracting Hybrid Warfare”, State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine and National Institute for Strategic Research.
During the seminars and trainings in Odesa, Chernihiv, Lviv, Kramatorsk and Kharkiv over 300 journalists of regional mass media, activists, bloggers and representatives of local communities had an opportunity to learn about SBU best practices on counteracting Russian aggression. They also gained skills how to detect and counteract destructive informational influences.
An important element of securing national information space and citizens’ consciousness from manipulative propagandist influence of foreign special services is awareness of form and methods of their destructive activity.
It is anticipated that these events will improve Ukrainian citizens’ understanding of directions, forms and methods of Russian secret services destructive activity. As a result, Ukrainians will have better immunity against manipulation and propaganda.
