Vinnytsia region: SBU blocks sale of drugs
Within the framework of counteracting illicit drug trafficking, the SBU officers exposed and detained drug dealer in Vinnytsia region.
The SBU operatives established that a resident of Mogyliv-Podolsky supplied the drugs and psychotropic substances to the border areas of Vinnytsia region and to the Republic of Moldova. The criminal ordered the “goods” on specialized websites and equipped the storage in his own apartment. The offender found “clients” among local drug addicts and foreigners. Monthly profit from unlawful activities reached UAH 100,000 (USD 3,775).
During the investigations at the criminal’s residence place, the law enforcers found ready-for-sale drugs - amphetamine and cannabis - valued at UAH 200,000 (USD 7,550).
The issue about serving a notice of suspicion in committing a crime and choosing a measure of restraint is being settled in the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated under Part 3 Article 307.
The operative and investigative actions are under way.
The operation aimed at detection of the drug dealer was conducted jointly with the State Border Guards Service of Ukraine, under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
